- Elriak Lendle is elected out of the Chancellor's Office but refuses to recognise the result, claiming illegal influencing of the Barons. A popular uprising in the Cities forces Lendle to flee the region. He is detained in the Cellnerics by the Dorlaf Baron "for his own protection" but rescued by his supporters in a raid on the local jail. Flees to a stronghold in the Campbells - from there he sends out messages mustering support for his cause.
- Following continued popular agitation the Barons vote to declare Lendle a traitor. The motion gains a majority but the Barons of Notruf and Elsey aren't present and withdraw their representatives from Huwdone. Casp Hianti declared Acting Chancellor in a move of doubtful legality.
-2 - Gradual build-up of forces on both sides, with Lendle slowly putting together a coalition of conservatives, anti-federalists and minority religions. He also starts steadily courting support from Zabrial. Increasing numbers of Emissaries, particularly from the south and west, begin withdrawing from Parliament and returning to their wards.
 - Notruf and Elsey miss the budgetary talks and declare that no money from their lands will go into federal coffers. A sudden attack forces Lendle out of his Campbells fortress but he withdraws to a stronger castle, at the foot of the Velb Valley. Throughout the year there are a growing number of arrests and minor clashes of arms, mainly based around the collection of taxation, also some fighting breaking out spontaneously between rival communities. Lendle also begins to encourage bandit groups in Dorlaf and Kratz to try and divert their forces from his base and destabilise their Barons.
- Start of war in earnest. A loyalist force is sent to Velb Valley to arrest Lendle, headed off and driven back by a chiefly Notrufan army. Elsan Emissaries turn on their Baron and deselect him, with similar results to Lendle's deposition. After a series of clashes the Baron winds up besieged at Wasseldale Castle. A Guards mutiny at Kolborough brings the town into Lendle's hands.
- The Baron of Zabrial declares his support for Lendle. Port Crabal remains loyal and a series of naval conflicts begin in the Green Sea. Lendle finishes driving the arresting force of last year out of the south and begins to build his armies for a major offensive. Heavy fighting in Elsey- Wasseldale siege relieved by Notruf army, Misreich turns over to Lendle and Yariston is captured but rebel forces beaten away from Dydesbury and Chorley. Punitive coastal raiding begins on the Dorlaf coastal towns, mainly by pirates aided by East Zabrial. Lendle's forces advance northwards, capturing Eriskath and Pockleton. Kratz completes its suppression of its bandits with a series of mass executions.
- Port Crabal is besieged. Pockleton recaptured by loyalist forces. Several Dorlaf lords suddenly rebel and attempt to seize the Cities, leading to fighting mainly in Yaleth. Lendle manages to get some cavalry across the Mellertang but his flying column is held up near Kendleton. Several of the Dorlaf coast towns switch sides, naval classes with Kratzan and Schallic ships. Fighting in the Cities dies down with the area remaining in loyalist hands. Sporadic uprisings in Schall and Kratz, but the mainland north on the whole remains quiet. Elsey's new Baron regroups loyalist forces in the region, routing a Notruf army at Amquiss. Yariston is recaptured shortly afterwards. A small Ellniss fleet, at the bequest of Huwdone House, joins the cat-and-mouse naval fighting. By the end of the year there is a gradual mobilising of loyalist forces in Dorlaf.
- Another heavy defeat at Misreich leads to the Notruf army scrambling out of Elsey. They leave the former Elsan Baron tied to a tree for him to be captured. A Dorlaf loyalist army advances, largely successful in pushing Lendle away from the Mellertang; another heads down the river to help list the Port Crabal siege. Another loyalist army raised in Gesund threatens Lendelton's southern flank. Lendle retreats to consolidate his forces. Zabrial abruptly ends its official support, with its Baron pledging loyalty to Huwdone House. Lendle flees he Velb Valley with his depleted army and heads for Notruf. Fighting continues on the Dorlaf/Kratz coast, degenerating into small inter-town raiding.
- The Baron of Notruf disowns Lendle and drives him out of his temporary base at Eborac. A mutiny of Dorlaf troops halts their progress but an Elsan army crosses into Notruf. Rapidly depleted by desertions, Lendle and his troops hide in the Grezan Moors. After some bitter fighting they are eventually killed or captured by the Elsan army. the captives, including Lendle himself, are brought in chains to the Cities.
- Throughout the year the various conflicts die out or are suppressed; however there are a string of small-scale insurrections by various groups across the country, and banditry and piracy remain a problem for many years. In October after a show trial Lendle is executed for treason in Swallow Square. 14 others, mostly nobles, die with him and there are similar executions in Elsey (including their former Baron) and Notruf.
- The seven Barons meet at Pockleton and reaffirm their faith in the Confederacy. Over the next couple of years the courts make a series of land seizures from those who fought on Lendle's side, chiefly from the families of those killed. This prevents old wounds from healing and keeps alive the tensions which resulted in the second civil war.
