Holan Brightson
"
Holan
Brightson was as usual looking like a scarecrow who has raided a theatrical
wardrobe, sporting an archaic ruff and a frayed and stained old robe over his
bony frame. Together with his tussled
white nest of hair, thick-lensed glasses and shuffling stick-aided walk,
Brightson was almost a caricature of Old Age.
It was deliberate. There is always
a tendency to equate age with senility, and Brightson's reputation was so
formidable that he needed to disarm people more than he needed to impress them.
